OnePlus 15s BIS Certification: Exciting India Launch Soon

The third flagship phone from OnePlus might be launched as the successor to the OnePlus 13s, becoming part of the OnePlus 15 and 15R series. OnePlus seems to be preparing to broaden its flagship smartphone lineup in India. Following the recent introduction of the OnePlus 15R, which is a successor to the flagship OnePlus 15, a new model, the OnePlus 15s, has now appeared online. This device has allegedly been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, indicating a likely launch in India is on the horizon.

Although OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the device yet, listings on BIS are typically regarded as one of the last stages before s smartphone launches in the Indian market. This indicates that the OnePlus 15s might be revealed in the upcoming months.

A smartphone with the model number CPH2793 has been found in the BIS certification database. Although the listing does not provide the phone’s name or specifications, tipster @Gadgetsdata on X (previously Twitter) asserts that this model number is associated with the forthcoming OnePlus 15s.

As is common with BIS certifications, no details regarding hardware or design have been shared. Nevertheless, the sighting of the model number indicates that OnePlus has already finished the necessary regulatory steps to market the device in India, increasing the likelihood of an official announcement in the near future.

Third Model in the OnePlus 15 Series

If the leak holds, the OnePlus 15s will be the third addition to the OnePlus 15 series, joining the already released OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R. This approach is similar to OnePlus’ previous strategy, where they launched an “s” version alongside their main flagship devices.

The OnePlus 15s is anticipated to take the place of the OnePlus 13s, which debuted in India earlier this year in June. Although information about the new device is limited, it is expected to be positioned between the standard flagship and the “R” variant regarding both price and features.

What to Expect: Looking at the OnePlus 13s

As the official details of the OnePlus 15s remain undisclosed, the OnePlus 13s serves as a helpful benchmark.

The OnePlus 13s debuted in India with a starting price of Rs. 54,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version, while the highest-end 12GB + 512GB variant was available for Rs. 59,999. It came in three color choices: Black Velvet, Green Silk, and Pink Satin.

Regarding its display, the OnePlus 13s boasted a 6.32-inch LTPO screen with a 1.5K resolution (1,216 x 2,640 pixels), a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 1,600nits. The device was powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which firmly positioned it in the premium flagship segment.

Camera, Battery, and Charging Capabilities

For photography, the OnePlus 13s features a dual rear camera system, which includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700 main sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. On the front, it has a 32-megapixel selfie camera, perfect for photography lovers and video callers. The device is powered by a 5,850mAh battery and supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing for rapid recharges and all-day performance.

OnePlus 15s: What Lies Ahead

If OnePlus adopts a comparable approach, the OnePlus 15s might deliver flagship-level performance, an exceptional display, and impressive camera features, potentially with enhancements compared to the previous model. The pricing is anticipated to stay within the upper-mid to premium range, positioning it as a compelling choice for those seeking high-end performance without having to choose the very top model.

Currently, everyone is looking to OnePlus for an official announcement. With the BIS certification already secured, the launch of the OnePlus 15s in India seems to be imminent.
